Dental Corps soldiers participating in the US Army Reserves come from many different backgrounds, civilian and military. They compound their value added benefit to the Dental Directorate and to the missions of the Army Reserve. The majority of AMEDD Service Support resides in the Army Reserves and the Army National Guard. This uniqueness of the Dental Care System includes a vibrant Reserve force that impacts Dental Readiness, fiscal and monetary budgets, and compliments the Active Duty force in day to day business.

This newsletter will highlight the DIMA Dental Corps with an Information Paper that was prepared by LTC (Ret.) Carla Beams, AGR. This unique group intimately serves with the Active Duty clinicians and leadership. I was honored to serve as the DIMA Dental Corps Chief, serving with MG (Ret.) M. Ted Wong and MG Rob Tempel from 2012-2015. Currently, COL Dennis Ayer serves as the Dental Directorate IMA Commander at JB San Antonio and COL John Otten serves as the DIMA Dental Directorate Chief at the Office of the Surgeon General.
